Old Framlinghamians returned to the College in glorious fashion for OF Day 2026, as more than 120 guests gathered under brilliant blue skies for a day of sport, friendship, and reunion.

With temperatures reaching 31 degrees – reportedly warmer in Framlingham than in Rome – the College grounds were bathed in sunshine from morning through to evening, providing the perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration of the OF community.

More than 70 Old Framlinghamians took part in a packed programme of sporting fixtures against current pupils throughout the day. Cricket, hockey, tennis and netball all brought spirited competition, laughter, and plenty of impressive performances, while spectators enjoyed cheering on both familiar faces and the next generation of Old Framlinghamians.

But, as always, OF Day was about far more than the results.

Across the College, old friends reunited after years apart, new friendships were formed, and generations of OFs shared stories and memories together. Families relaxed on the lawns with picnic blankets, children made the most of the dedicated play area, and guests gathered between fixtures to enjoy coffee, pizza, cakes and refreshments from the food vendors stationed around the grounds.

The relaxed atmosphere captured exactly what OF Day is intended to be: a joyful homecoming for the wider Framlingham community.

Speaking during the day, guests reflected on the unique spirit of OF Day – the rare ability of Framlingham to make time seem to collapse so easily, with conversations resuming as though no years had passed at all.

President Kim Alexandra Dickel (M97-98), came over from Germany for the occasion and extended her sincere thanks to everyone who helped bring the day to life, particularly the Development Office represented by Natasha Flunder, Martin Myers-Allen, OF Co-ordinator Lucy Garrard (P10-22) as well as Cameron Greenhall (K11-16) and the Sports Department, staff, volunteers, and all those who returned to take part and support the occasion.

As the sun continued into the evening,  many Old Framlinghamains carried celebrations on into Framlingham town. OF Day 2026 proved once again that while pupils may leave the College, Framlingham never truly leaves them.
