This was the 16th year of the OFs v OIs Golf match at Woodbridge Golf Club. This is one of the most congenial fixtures in the calendar and the outcome – a 3 -3 draw, from 6 x 4 ball, better ball matches was very much in keeping with the spirit of the occasion. The OFs fielded the only lady – Lottie Whyman, who was expecting to return to Woodbridge the following week for the Ladies' County Championship, and Lottie is clearly playing to a very high standard. Other team members were mostly stalwarts of the fixture. Four of the players are WGC members, but others – notably James Brocks, Derek Moss and Chris Sneath – travelled significant distances, part of the motive being to enjoy playing on a golf course which is in fine shape, and, as it happened, to enjoy beautiful golfing weather. All in all, a day and a fixture which further cemented the warmest of relationships between the two teams. Thoughts that the fixture might have run its course have been very much superceded by a determination to keep it going as long as possible.
