A Big Society Welcome for the 2025 Moreau Leaving Scholars

This is the Twentieth year of the Moreau Leaving Scholarships programme and it was as hotly contested as ever, with a dozen applicants for the two scholarships on offer.

David Mallett has been on the selection panel since the very beginning, and has chaired the team for the last seventeen years – we owe him an enormous debt of gratitude. It’s never easy to select just two of the applicants, each of whom has so much to offer and a desire to keep their leaving-group in touch with each other. This is why the process takes place over the entire year, culminating in a series of interviews with a short-list of candidates in their last Summer Term.

At the end of this process, two candidates shone through, and we’re delighted to introduce Hannah-Grace Strover and Oli Nisbet as our 2025 Moreau Leaving Scholars (please just click on the links to read more about them.

On Speech Day, after receiving their awards from Charles Packshaw, Hannah-Grace and Oli met up with their mentors – Hetta O’Connor (P 94-99) and Nick Whitehead (K 2006-11), and a host of other SOF luminaries.

Our group photograph shows, L to R: Richard Sayer (S56-61), Angus Nisbet, Oli Nisbet, Nick Whitehead (K06-11) (Oli’s mentor), Imi Strover, Peter Howard-Dobson (R65-69), Hannah-Grace Strover, Hetta O’Connor (P94-99) (Hannah-Grace’s mentor), Simon Dougherty (G60-67) and Norman Porter (K50-57) .
