We’re making it easier for you to find out how we handle your personal data:
A new data privacy law, under the direction of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), comes into effect in the UK on 25th May 2018. In preparation for this, we’re publishing a new Privacy Notice to make it easier for individual Framlinghamians to find out how the Society of Old Framlinghamians (SOF) uses and protects their data.
We also want to make you aware that the SOF has, since the inception of the Data Protection Act 1998, acted as the data controller for your information. The data controller is responsible for deciding how your information is used and for ensuring it is secure.
We won’t significantly change the ways we use your personal data, but the new Notice will provide you with additional details, such as:
- Your increased rights in relation to the data we hold about you
- How we keep your data secure
- The types of personal data we collect about you, and how we use it
- The legal grounds for how we obtain and use your data
