Blessed with a fabulous autumnal afternoon, the annual duel took place between the OF’s and the College, with 12 golfers from each side competing in 6 well fought matches of foursomes.
Aldeburgh Golf club, as always, hosted us fantastically with a light lunch followed by the opportunity for many to play the new holes and layout of the course, which did not disappoint.
With many members of the OF Golfing Society being available, it made selection very difficult, and players were selected on youthfulness and golfing form. Therefore it was great to see new members making their first appearance for the OFGS, with 6 of the 12 members being under 30. Sadly, this meant stalwarts Newton & Curle were dropped to the reserve bench..
Every match was played in the true spirit of Framlingham sport with some great matches and little “DeChambeau-esk” rivalry between the players
The OF team was:-
- J Brocks & P Howard-Dobson
- J Blyth & R Graves
- K Hambling & R Anderton
- A McEwan & N Hayward
- B Green & O Nisbet
- J Lecompte & S Mermagen
The School team was made up of players from every year of the college and 3 boys from the Prep school
Overall, the Old Framlinghamians snuck the win, but the true winner was Framlingham golf.
