Chris Essex (K69-76) writes : The West of England Supper was once again held on a Sunday evening at the Lamb Inn at Hindon, Wiltshire. The Lamb Inn has been a public house since the 12th century and the small dining room was a lovely setting for our meal and much conversation.
All those attending, apart from Lawrie, had also attended last year so great loyalty.
We came from a wide geographical area covering Bath & North East Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire, Monmouthshire and Wiltshire plus Essex in the form of former SOF President Simon Dougherty (G60-67) and his wife Maggie.
After the meal I explained that nearly 30 had sent their apologies and hoped to attend in the future. I read out a number of the messages received. I talked about my disappointment that despite returning to a Sunday in October we had not replicated the 24 who attended 2 years ago. However, all those present said how much they had enjoyed the evening and the laughter and banter. I also mentioned that the 2026 edition of the OF Newspaper was nearing completion and would hopefully be posted before Christmas.
Finally, I proposed a toast to the College & Brandeston,
Next year’s event will hopefully be on Sunday 31 October 2027, once again at the Lamb Inn.
Those present, pictured left to right, were : Ian Vicary (K58-62), Chris Essex (K69-75), Maggie Dougherty (guest), Simon Dougherty (G60-67), Carol Curties (guest), Lawrie Wright (S63-68), Alan (Fred) Limer (S56-65).
