OFs INVADE THE COTSWOLDS WITHOUT MOTORCADE ESCORT

James Ruddock-Broyd (G46-52) writes :  A mini OF Lunch was held at the Royal Oak, Burford, Oxon on 17 October 2025 primarily for two contemporaries (just) who had not met since sitting together at the Pembroke College dinner on 28 March 2015.

With two 90 year-olds present it is appropriate to list attendees in order of seniority:   Bernard Bridges (S45-54), James Ruddock-Broyd (G46-52), John Hanney (R50-55) and Clive Smith (S54-58).

John and Clive renewed acquaintance from 10 years ago while Bernard was most welcome as he had fallen down his staircase on the eve of his 90th Birthday in July and was recovering from having a brace fixing his head to his spine for many weeks.

A desire was expressed to have a County Luncheon next year but not in Oxford City as previously as a Congestion Charge was just coming into force and because of the longtime prohibition on parking. Would anyone over the county border who would like to attend contact me at an early date.

Pictured left to right are Clive Smith (S54-58), Bernard Bridges (S45-54), John Hanney (R50-55) and James Ruddock-Broyd (G46-52)

Well done James! Your continued OF organisational aptitude is commendable! Coincidentally Georgina and I dined last night in Aldeburgh with another of your contemporaries, the generous Roger Marriott (S50-54) and Jill. Both on great form.
