On the evening of December 3rd, former pupils of Framlingham College came together for a lively and heart-warming reunion at the Prince Albert Pub in London. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. and continuing proudly until closing time, the event brought together one of the largest gatherings of young Old Framlinghamians in recent memory.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was exceptionally warm and spirited. Laughter, stories, and shared memories filled the pub as attendees reconnected with classmates, forged new friendships, and celebrated the enduring bond of the Framlingham community. The Prince Albert proved to be a fitting venue – welcoming, vibrant, and perfectly suited to an occasion marked by camaraderie and nostalgia.
A special thanks is owed to Andrew Cook, Director of Development at the College and his dedicated team, whose excellent organization ensured the event ran smoothly and successfully. Their efforts were widely appreciated by all in attendance. Gratitude is also extended to Kim Alexandra Dickel (M97-98), President of the Society of Old Framlinghamians, who travelled from Germany especially for the occasion – a gesture that added further significance to the gathering.
As a poignant nod to our history, Seb Butler (R04-19) revived a distinctive tradition by raising a Black Velvet, the 19th-century cocktail created after Prince Albert’s death, when a London bartender darkened champagne with stout so that even a celebratory drink could go into mourning.
With such a strong turnout and an undeniable sense of joy and history throughout the evening, this reunion stands as a testament to the lasting connection between Old Framlinghamians. It will surely be remembered as one of the standout social events for OFs sparking a new Christmas tradition for years to come.
