Death of SOF Vice President

We are sad to report the death of SOF Vice President Andrew Hartill Baker (G59-67) at the age of 77.  Simon Dougherty (G60-67) was a lifelong friend and contemporary of Andrew’s. His wife Aisha rang him with the news that he had died in the Royal United Hospital, Bath on 18 December 2025 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Aisha. Father of Laura, Sally, Thomas, Charles and Benjamin. Dear grandfather of Isabel, Andrew, Alfie, Bessie, Henry and James.

His school career saw him be treasurer of the Photographic Society, Captain of “The Centipedes”, Sacristan in Chapel, played golf and was in the RAF Section getting his gliding certicates.  As well as being an SOF Vice President for many years, he was also a past attendee of suppers in London and the West of England.  Sadly he had been unwell for some years.

The funeral service took place at St Mary’s Church, Timsbury, on 29th January at 12.30 pm.
