Alex and Lucy Brewis (P07-08), pictured above, built their glamping business 3 years ago. It is based at The Four Bells, Pinford End, Hawstead, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5NU and you can visit their website by click here.
They featured on Channel 4’s “Four in a Bed” programme yesterday – Tuesday 15 September 2026 and we wish them al the best when the results are revealed on Friday. They have previously won the 2026 Suffolk & Norfolk Tourism Awards’ Best New Tourism Business title, as well as a 2024 Muddy Stilettos award.
Alex and Lucy built the business while raising their two young daughters and he worked in IT and project management. The campsite now has four tents: three bell tents and a metal-framed dome that is better insulated for the British weather. The main season runs from April to September, although the dome can operate for longer. They hope to expand further in the future. It is based on a 3 acre plot and includes an old stable block converted into a luxury bathroom and amenity building with an indoor kitchen and seating area. Each tent has a wood-fired hot tub, sockets, a TV, Wi-Fi, lighting, phone-charging facilities and a fire pit. Each unit also has its own private bathroom (rather than one shared) and two of them have unique outdoor baths in addition to the hot tubs.
Lucy lives at the bottom of the hill from the site and was born and raised in the village.
Their episode was filmed last June, but they have had to keep quiet about the result. After staying at each other’s properties, contestants pay what they think the room is worth, and the hotel with the highest average bill wins. Unfortunately Alex and Lucy didn’t win but enjoyed the experience.
Lucy has provided the following lovely photos of the site.
