Bill Bulstrode (K62-69), who has been trading in Framlingham for 53 years, received the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the King’s 2024 New Year Honours for services to the community.
Bill said at the time : “When the letter arrived a few weeks ago, I was amazed. I am delighted. I am a Framlingham boy, born and bred. I have lived and worked in the town all my life. I have done a lot for the town and I still do a lot for the town.”
He started working for food and drink business Carley & Webb in the town before starting his own flooring company, which he now runs as part of his Bulstrodes and Framlingham Toy Shop in Bridge Street.
He has also helped with some big events in the town and following the flooding in the Town from Storm Babet in October, he has also provided a new home at his shop for the town’s Post Office, which was flooded out of its Riverside premises.
