As you will read in this year’s Overseas Bag, OF Vice President Mike Bullock (R55-59) is descended from a famous ancestors, but what we have also discovered is that he is a member of the Woodworker’s Association of Pretoria, South Africa. The Association has over 400 members. They sponsor and have a well-equipped workshop at the New Hope School for under privileged boys and girls where there is a formal instructor teaching woodworking skills. Members can go along to help and use the facilities as well and Mike has put that to good use.
The above image of an amazing coffee table was made by Mike for his family.
Below pictures of one he made for themselves a couple of years ago and a hat stand for his grand daughter, which was made in South Africa, assembled in Scotland and is now resident in Bath!
Below is an egg stand he made a couple of months ago and he is presently working on pepper mills from teak and larch.
