This entertaining and moving booklet presents thirty pages of, firstly, recollections of OFs who were at Framlingham during the war years and, in particular, of those who were evacuated to Repton (can it really have only been for one term!). It then moves on to review the wartime contributions of some of the 84 OFs and masters who lost their lives in WW II. John Waddell has made a marvellous job of linking all of these recollections together in a fascinating and engaging way.
There are plenty of photographs, including this one, taken by Guy Simpson (K 39-41), of an impromptu staff conference at Repton. From left to right, the Reverend Rupert Kneese, who was very much in charge during the evacuation, talking to W E Winstanley and Quentin Cuckow who was, at the time, Junior School housemaster.
