ORIGINAL ARTICLE : Sir Alfred Munnings KCVO PRA (1891-92) was one of Britain's most celebrated equine artists. A new exhibition features over 40 original paintings from his time with the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. They are displayed together in England for the first time in a century and highlight the role of horses in military operations.
The exhibition includes the famous painting of the Gordon Flowerdew VC (1894-99) charge on 30 March 1918.
The exhibition starts on 30 November and runs until 3 March at the National Army Museum in London and then on 23 March transfers to the Munnings Museum at Dedham.
