Martin Myers-Allan (Hon OF) writes : I have been perusing Tony Martin’s (G47-55) extensive and somewhat musty library and have selected a few books that may reflect his soul and his interests perfectly. It includes his favourite childhood stories, bygone farming tales, a love of Munnings, local history, the East Anglian countryside, the war years, heraldry and the Royal Family. I will also sneak in those that demonstrate his devotion to the Society. The aim is to put these in a glass cabinet or on a shelf in the Clarke Martin Reading Room. The CCF is very happy to provide funds for this and a plaque – he was a driver during his days of National Service.
It will be known as “The Tony Martin Collection”.
The Clarke Martin Reading room was named after his grandfather James Mason Martin (1888-1894). Click on his name for his Distinguished entry or click here for Tony’s Distinguished entry.
