Suffolk Supper 2013

The last two years’ Suffolk Suppers marked a departure from traditional sit-down suppers. The buffet format has been hailed as a considerable success, so we have decided to repeat that format again this year. Tables will be set up, so there will be no need to wander around precariously, performing an impossible balancing act with food, cutlery and glass, while eating and talking at the same time. So come along prepared to mix and mingle, rather than be fixed at one particular table.

A bar will be open in the annex to the Dining Room from about 7.15pm and a buffet self service supper will be available from 7.30pm over the following two hours. At about 8.45pm there will be the induction of new Honorary OFs by the President followed by about 20 minutes of musical entertainment arranged by the Director of Music, Tim Rhodes. There will be no other formalities at the supper, no seating plan and definitely no long speeches. Those attending may pass through to the dining room whenever they wish and sit at any table each of which will have from six to eight places laid. If there are any special dietary requirements please let me know.

All attending the supper are warmly invited to the Open Item on the Council Agenda, at 6-45 in the Library. This will consist of a presentation on the future of the Society, specifically on the planned Joint Venture, whereby the College will fund the activities of the Society. Please join us to hear of the Society’s plans for the future. The reception will follow at 7-15pm in Pauls Court.

Booking for the supper is essential which must be accompanied by a payment of £10.00 per head which will include a welcoming drink. The preferred method of payment is by an internet transfer to the SOF account (Society of Old Framlinghamians Sort Code 40 05 30, Account Number 01494252) together with an e-mail (suffolksupper@oldframlinghamian.com) informing us that:

a. It has been sent;
b. The reference shown to enable the Treasurer to identify it;
c. The identity of the diners for whom the booking is made.

If this is not practical, then a cheque made payable to “Society of Old Framlinghamians” may be sent by post to John Horton together with a note to whom the cheque relates.
