We were contacted by the great granddaughter of WILLIAM HENRY BOOTHBY PHILLIPS (1873-75). Sadly we had little information on his time at the College but she had a fascinating letter he wrote to his father when starting at the College in September 1873. It gives a real insight into life at the College over 140 years ago and within 10 years of the College opening.
As well as a photo of him, Fritha has provided a transcript of the letter, followed by information on his early life and then scans of the original letter – click here to see more.
