Congratulations to Ian McLeish (G60-64) who has published the book “Military Plane Crashes Sultanate of Oman”. This is his first solo book.
The book endeavours to bring together the history of three historic military plane accidents on the coastal hillsides to the south west of Salalah in Oman. Ian says that to date much surmising has taken place as to what happened to the aircraft, why it occurred and the fate of the crews and passengers. Much of the speculation may now be put to rest after several decades of research by Ian. There is a foreword written by Air Commodore Barbara Cooper CBE RAF (ret’d) who commends the book. The book is A4 hard back and runs to 128 colour pages. Signed copies are available for £25 plus £6.2 P&P (UK) direct from Ian – email ian_mcleish@talktalk.net
He was previously involved in publishing in 1995 a book called “Native Orchids of Belize”. It was written in conjunction with Kew Gardens and is the `Bible` for Belizean Orchids, with over 200 colour photographs and 110 black and white illustrations.
