Invitation for all OFs: Jonathan Hulley Memorial Lecture

Invitation for all OFs: Jonathan Hulley Memorial Lecture

We are delighted to invite you to this year’s Jonathan Hulley Memorial Lecture on Thursday 15 October at 19:30 in the Headmaster Porter Theatre.

The annual lecture was established in memory of former Framlingham pupil Jonathan Hulley (K10-16). Reflecting Jonathan’s zest for life and passion for sport, it brings our community together to hear from speakers who share their experiences, achievements and the lessons they have learnt along the way.

This year’s speaker will be our very own Simon Roche, Head of Framlingham College Prep School, who will be sharing a rather different side to life beyond the school gates.

Simon has twice completed the Marathon des Sables, a gruelling 265km race across the Sahara Desert and widely regarded as one of the toughest footraces in the world.

In Eating the Elephant, he will share some of the extraordinary experiences behind those races and what they have taught him about resilience, ambition, camaraderie and dealing with failure. This is not simply a talk about running. This is not simply a talk about running. It is about taking on something that can seem impossible, breaking it down and finding a way to keep going.

It promises to be a fascinating and entertaining evening and we very much hope you can join us. Please do feel free to extend the invitation to friends or anyone else you think would enjoy the evening.
