Mr Charles William Manning Carter OBE (Rendlesham 1961-1969)

At Sandhurst he had the distinction of being awarded the Queen’s Medal for passing out highest in the Order of Merit. He was part of the Army’s operational and planning group for the recapture of the Falkland Islands in 1982. He was appointed as an OBE for his work with the United Nations in Cyprus where he commanded the British Sector of the Green Line, helping to lower the tensions between the Greeks and Turks.
