Major George Herbert Hind Manfield (1889-1894)
Qualified as an ENT surgeon in Nottingham. During WW1 served in Royal Army Medical Corps and was awarded Military Cross “For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in action. He worked day and night tending the wounded in our advanced positions under heavy fire and carried many of them down the trench, after all the bearers had been wounded.”
