Lt Col Philip Lionel William Powell CBE, DSO (1893-1895)
After Sandhurst joined Welsh Regiment and served in the South African War. During WW1 he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order on 3 June 1916. He was awarded CBE on 3 June 1919. In 1925 he was also decorated with the Order of the White Rose of Finland in recognition of services rendered.
