Lt Col Herbert St Maur Carter DSO (1893-1893)

After qualifying as a doctor, he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps. Prior to start of WW1 he was British Red Cross Commissioner with Serbian Forces in Balkan War and received the Order of St Sava of Serbia. During WW1 he was awarded DSO on 23 June 1915 “For distinguished service in the field”. He was mentioned in dispatches 3 times.
