From Framlingham to the Classroom: Amelia Udy’s Journey into Teaching

Amelia Udy (P13–18) has been busy since leaving Framlingham College – and is about to take the next big step in her career.

Amelia credits much of her inspiration to teachers at Framlingham, including Dr Noble, Mr Nunn, Mrs Bloore, and Mrs Cranmer, whose encouragement helped shape Amelia’s path into education. After completing a degree in Primary Education at Anglia Ruskin University (2019–2022), Amelia went on to achieve a PGCE at the University of Bedfordshire (2022–2024).

Alongside Amelia’s studies, sport continued to play a huge role in her life. Having played cricket at Framlingham, Amelia went on to represent the University of Cambridge’s 1st XI for a season while at ARU — a highlight of her time there. Amelia also captained the women’s hockey team at ARU, describing the experience as both special and rewarding.

Amelia’s time on placement during her PGCE confirmed a passion for teaching in Key Stage 1 and Early Years, and this September Amelia begins a first teaching role in the Cambridgeshire area.

We’re proud to share Amelia’s journey and wish her the very best as she begins this exciting new chapter.
