Queensland Australia OF Gathering in 2024

Neville Marsh (S53-61) writes : First, I hope you are well and keeping active. With everything that life has thrown at us from covid onwards, it seems to take an extra effort to enjoy life to the full.

My reason for contacting you is to tell Queensland OFs that Richard Rowe (S65-74) will be coming out to Australia next February with his partner Denise and visiting capitals of the eastern States. Richard ran the OF Magazine Overseas Bag for several years to which many of you will have contributed. Chris Essex back in Blighty has very kindly provided emails for all known Queensland OFs, so we can gauge the interest in a lunch-time event.

We have proposed to hold a lunch on Thursday 29 February, 2024 in or near central Brisbane, at a time and place to be agreed. As Richard and Denise fly out later that day, I would suggest a fairly early start, say around 12 noon.

I do hope that those of you within striking distance of Brisbane can join us (my apologies to those from the far flung north and west of Queensland). There are a couple of OFs for whom we do not have contact details: David Pacello (R77-85) and Peter McAuley (R70-74). If anyone knows their whereabouts, please let me know.

I will get back to you in the New Year with firm details but for the moment, this is a good reason to get that 2024 diary into action!
