UPDATE : We are delighted to report that Jasper has won the award for the best photograph in the portrait section of the BBC Wildlife Photography Awards. ORIGINAL STORY : We are excited to report that former Moreau Scholar Jasper Maberly (S09-13) has had one of his photographs, a shoebill in Uganda, shortlisted for the BBC Wildlife Photography Awards, in the portrait section. See the photo above.
Here is a link to the competition page where public voting is now open.
There are 5 images in each category, and the image with the most votes in each category will be entered into the final selection, from which an overall winner will be selected by the editorial team. The voting is only open until 14th May.
He has also had the following two photographs get through to the final round of judging for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year award this year. Sadly they didn’t make it to the final exhibition, but a great achievement nonetheless. One is a black and white image of an elephant and an egret and one of a buffalo with a piapiac and an egret.
He also has a photo due to be exhibited in an exhibition at Snape Maltings this summer and he will confirm details nearer the time.
