Obituary:
When Sidney left school he went to work for his father at Cretingham Lodge which was where he was born and where he lived when he died. He spent his whole life devoted to farming and was perhaps fortunate to have farmed in one of the most innovative and prosperous periods in English farming history. On 22nd January 1955 Sidney married Ann and in a marriage of almost fifty years they were to raise three children Andrew, Janet and Diana. Sidney’s father came to Cretingham Lodge in the 1920s and after a period at Moore Farm, Knoddishall, when he first married, Sidney returned to Cretingham Lodge and farmed there until he died. His family including his son Andrew will continue to farm there. He leaves four grandchildren.
