Gerald SOUTHALL (S60-70)
1951-2003
On 22 July 2003 aged 51. Brother of ALAN SOUTHALL (S66-75) and son of JACK SOUTHALL (S33-39).
Despite suffering for many years from severe arthritis Gerald was a director in the family business, the Southall Laundry.
He was a staunch supporter of the Round Table, being chairman of the Saffron Walden branch and at one time chairman of the Eastern Area Round Table. He was very actively involved in money raising for various Saffron Walden charities and his popularity was acknowledged by the large attendance at his funeral. His death was particularly tragic for his mother who had lost her other son, Alan , just eight months previously.
